Toronto & North York Manual Lympathic Drainage (MLD)

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is a specialized, gentle type of massage designed to encourage the natural drainage of the lymph, which carries waste products away from the tissues back toward the heart. This treatment is provided by our Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) Michelle Dang, who is Level 2 certified by Dr.Vodder School International for MLD.

What is Manual Lymphatic Drainage?

The lymphatic system is a crucial part of our immune system, consisting of a network of lymph nodes and vessels that transport lymph fluid throughout the body. This fluid contains white blood cells, which help fight infection, and waste products from cellular processes.

MLD treatment is a slow and gentle manual technique used to effectively drain excess fluid retained in the body (lymph nodes) and improves the overall function of the lymphatic and immune system. The rhythmic circular motion techniques and gentle pressure help lessen swelling, relieve pain, stop it from getting worse, prevent infection and improves movement, while promoting the body’s natural healing process.

Manual Lymph Drainage may require multiple sessions to achieve and improve conditions and promote proper drainage. An assessment and treatment plan will be discussed during initial treatment with our therapist.
